The Department Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the assigned department within Food Square, ensuring exceptional customer experience, premium merchandising standards, sales performance, and strict adherence to food safety and brand SOPs.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Performance
Drive departmental sales targets, ATV, and UPT through effective selling and upselling techniques
Ensure execution of promotions, seasonal campaigns, and visual merchandising as per brand guidelines
Analyze sales trends and take corrective actions to improve performance
Customer Experience & Service Excellence
Deliver a superior and personalized customer experience in line with luxury retail standards
Handle customer queries and escalations professionally
Ensure team members maintain service etiquette and grooming standards at all times
Department Operations
Oversee daily operations including opening/closing, floor supervision, and stock availability
Ensure high standards of hygiene, food safety, and store ambiance
Conduct regular floor walks and ensure proper product display and FIFO compliance
Inventory & Stock Management
Monitor stock levels, replenishment, and product freshness
Control shrinkage, wastage, and pilferage within the department
Perform cycle counts, support physical inventory, and ensure GRN accuracy
Team Leadership & People Management
Lead, motivate, and supervise department staff
Prepare rosters, allocate shifts, and manage attendance
Support onboarding, training, and skill development of team members
Address discipline issues and resolve team conflicts in coordination with Store Manager
Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with FSSAI norms, internal SOPs, and audit requirements
Adhere to fire safety, equipment handling, and health & safety standards
Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions
Reporting & Coordination
Prepare and share daily departmental reports including sales, stock, and issues
Coordinate closely with the Store Manager and cross-functional teams
Ensure timely and transparent communication on operational matters

Sound understanding of gourmet food products and luxury retail operations
Leadership and team management abilities
Inventory management and basic financial acumen
Attention to detail with high standards for hygiene and presentation
Qualification
Graduate in any discipline (Hotel Management / Retail Management preferred)
Experience
Minimum
2 years of experience
as a Department Manager / Team Leader in
Gourmet Retail or Luxury Retail

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
