Job description

An ICSE school in Secunderabad is seeking an experienced and dynamic

Department Head (Science)

to lead the Science department, mentor teachers across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and ensure high academic standards aligned with the ICSE curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Science Department and oversee academic planning. Develop and implement yearly academic plans, lesson plans, practical schedules, and assessments. Guide, mentor, and supervise Science faculty across subjects. Ensure adherence to ICSE curriculum standards and teaching methodologies. Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback for improvement. Coordinate with school leadership for academic growth and strategy. Review student performance and execute improvement plans. Monitor lab activities and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Organize departmental meetings, workshops, and training sessions. Support school management in curriculum development and exam planning. Ensure discipline, punctuality, and academic excellence within the department.

Strong subject knowledge across Science disciplines. Excellent understanding of ICSE curriculum and pedagogy. Leadership and team-management skills. Good communication and classroom-management abilities. Strong planning, analytical, and organizational skills.
