A Data Entry Operator (DEO) is responsible for entering, updating, and maintaining accurate information in company databases and computer systems. The role requires attention to detail, good typing skills, and the ability to manage large volumes of data efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Enter, update, and verify data in databases, spreadsheets, and systems.
Review data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Correct errors and inconsistencies in data entries.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Retrieve data from databases or electronic files as requested.
Prepare and sort documents for data entry.
Generate reports and perform basic data analysis when required.
Follow data entry procedures and quality standards.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure data accuracy.
Perform regular backups and update records as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
Good typing speed (usually 35-45 WPM or more).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word) and data management systems.
Familiarity with office equipment such as scanners and printers.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in computer or business is a plus.
