Job Description

Diagnostic and Treatment:

Examining patients' teeth, gums, and surrounding tissues. Diagnosing dental problems and developing individualized treatment plans. Performing procedures like fillings, extractions, and root canals. Fitting dental prosthetics such as dentures, crowns, and bridges.

Oral Health Education and Prevention:

Educating patients on oral hygiene techniques like brushing and flossing. Providing advice on dietary habits that affect oral health. Implementing preventative measures like sealants and fluoride treatments.

Other Duties:

Administering local anaesthesia. Prescribing medications as needed. Referring patients to specialists. Maintaining accurate patient records. Ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Specialized Areas:

Some dentists specialize in areas like orthodontics (braces), periodontics (gum disease), or endodontics (root canals). They may also be involved in cosmetic dentistry.
