Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures by setting up instruments and materials.
Assist the dentist during procedures such as fillings, extractions, crowns, and cleanings.
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and treatment areas according to safety standards.
Take and develop dental X-rays (if certified).
Record patient medical and dental histories and update charts accurately.
Provide patients with pre- and post-operative instructions.
Manage patient flow and appointment scheduling to maintain efficiency.
Order and maintain dental supplies and inventory.
Ensure compliance with infection control and OSHA regulations.
Support front desk operations when needed, including patient check-in, billing, and record management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Completion of an accredited dental assisting program (preferred).
State certification or license to take dental radiographs (as required by law).
Current CPR certification.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience using dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental).
Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Compassionate and professional attitude toward patients.
