Job Description

The Dental Assistant will support dentists and dental surgeons in all clinical procedures, ensure smooth patient flow, maintain hygiene and sterilization standards, and deliver a comfortable and professional experience to every patient.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures (e.g., fillings, scaling, root canal, extractions). Prepare and organize dental instruments, materials, and equipment before and after procedures. Manage chairside assistance--ensuring suction, lighting, and materials are handled efficiently. Maintain sterilization and infection control protocols for all instruments and work areas. Take and develop dental X-rays (if certified). Record patient medical and dental histories accurately. Schedule appointments and help manage patient records. Ensure the operatory is clean, organized, and ready for each patient. Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and preventive dental practices.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or Certification in Dental Assistance or relevant field. Minimum 2 years of experience in a dental clinic or hospital setup. Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and sterilization techniques. Good communication and patient-handling skills. Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a clinical environment. Basic computer skills for maintaining digital records.
