We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Server DBA to manage, maintain, and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server database environment. The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability solutions.
Desired Skills and experience
Candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/MBA in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
6-8 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
Strong expertise in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 administration.
Proficiency in T-SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization.
Experience with backup/recovery tools and disaster recovery planning.
Familiarity with monitoring tools like SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, and third-party solutions.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar certification will be a plus.
Experience with cloud-based SQL Server deployments (Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and provide clear updates.
Must possess good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across development, testing, and production environments.
Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to ensure optimal performance.
Manage database security, roles, and permissions to ensure data integrity and compliance.
Perform regular backups and recovery operations and implement disaster recovery strategies.
Design and implement high availability solutions including clustering, replication, and Always on Availability Groups.
Automate routine database tasks using PowerShell or T-SQL scripts.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments and troubleshoot issues.
Maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards.
