The Dean, School of Law will provide academic, administrative, and strategic leadership to the School. The role involves ensuring academic excellence, strengthening industry and legal fraternity relations, maintaining compliance with statutory/ regulatory bodies (BCI/UGC), enhancing research output, and leading the faculty and students towards national-level achievements.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Academic Leadership
Oversee curriculum design, revision, and enhancement in accordance with
BCI guidelines
, industry trends, and global legal education standards.
Ensure high-quality teaching-learning processes, pedagogy, and academic delivery.
Introduce new programs (LLB, BA LLB, BBA LLB, LLM, PhD) as per university vision and approval requirements.
Mentor faculty in academic planning, syllabus development, and professional growth.
B. Administration & Compliance
Ensure compliance with
Bar Council of India (BCI)
norms and support inspections/approvals.
Prepare academic calendars, timetables, workload distribution, and faculty rosters.
Manage budgets, infrastructure planning, and resources for the School of Law.
Lead NAAC/ NIRF documentation and institutional accreditation work.
C. Faculty Management
Recruit, onboard, and mentor qualified law faculty members.
Facilitate faculty development programs (FDPs), workshops, and research training.
Set performance expectations and conduct evaluations.
D. Student Development
Create a vibrant academic culture and promote student engagement.
Strengthen
moot court

legal aid clinic
,
ADR/mediation activities
, internships, and court exposure.
Guide students in legal competitions, research writing, publications, and placements.
E. Industry & Legal Fraternity Engagement
Build strong linkages with law firms, courts, legal NGOs, corporates, and government bodies.
Drive internship programs, campus placements, guest lectures, and collaborations.
Establish MoUs with national and international legal institutions.
F. Research & Publications
Promote high-quality research, publications, and funded projects.
Encourage faculty and students to participate in conferences, seminars, and legal research activities.
Oversee journals/newsletters run by the School of Law.
G. Strategic Initiatives
Contribute to the university's strategic planning and institutional development.
Initiate new centers of excellence (e.g., Cyber Law, IPR, Human Rights, Forensics).
Promote digital learning, innovation, and community legal services.
3. Qualifications & ExperienceEssential
PhD in Law (preferred) / LLM with outstanding academic credentials.
Minimum
12-15 years
of teaching/research/ industry experience, with at least
5 years in an academic leadership role
(HOD/Associate Dean/Dean).
Proven record of publications, research, and academic leadership.
Desirable
Experience with BCI inspections and compliance.
Strong networks with law firms, courts, legal authorities, and industry bodies.
Demonstrated ability in institution building, research promotion, and academic innovation.
