Job Description

Jellyfish are looking for a Render Wrangler to come and support our growing animation.

Rendering is the vital process of turning computer data into a sequence of viewable images. We are looking for someone to join our team who has an interest in the animation/vfx industry to assist our render supervisor in achieving this.

This is the perfect entry-level role for those who are considering a career in animation/vfx. This position takes direction from the render supervisor and will allow you to sink your teeth into the more technical side of the creative visual process.

Working Hours:

Evening and weekend work required- shifts to vary \xe2\x80\x93 8 hours per day, 5 days per week across any 7 days between the hours of 8 AM through to 2 AM.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control the rendering process.
• Monitor the render queue to maximize resource efficiency.
• Handle job priorities, liasing with Production to meet deadlines.
• Troubleshoot and optimise rendering resources.
• Diagnose and resolve render farm issues.
• Identify and report trends and potential problems.
• Work with production/render supervisor to forecast render resource needs and priorities.
• Attend necessary departmental and team meetings.

Requirements

• Troubleshooting skills.
• Display good communication skills.
• Knowledgeable on new tools and techniques.
• Confident knowledge of a scripting language (such as Python).
• Some working knowledge of any render management software.
• Good knowledge of Office programs or similar (MS, Libre, Google, etc.).

Desirable

• Experience in CG industry is preferred.
