Job Summary

6 years of experience in data engineering with at least 3 years handson with DBT and BigQuery


Strong understanding of SQL data warehousing and ELT architecture


Experience with data modeling especially dimensional modeling and performance tuning in BigQuery


Familiarity with legacy ETL tools like IBM DataStage and ability to reverseengineer existing pipelines


Proficiency in Git CICD pipelines and dataOps practices


Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in DBT Data Build Tool and Google BigQuery to help us with the migration from a legacy IBM DataStage environment This role is critical to modernizing our data infrastructure and enabling scalable cloudnative data transformation workflows The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data modeling ETLELT architecture and cloud data engineering along with excellent communication and collaboration skills


Key Responsibilities


Prior experience in migrating from IBM DataStage to DBT and BigQuery or similar data migration activities into the cloud solutions


Design and implement modular testable and scalable DBT models aligned with business logic and performance needs


Optimize and manage BigQuery datasets partitioning clustering and costefficient querying


Collaborate with stakeholders to understand existing pipelines and translate them into modern ELT workflows


Establish best practices for version control CICD testing and documentation in DBT


Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members during the migration process


Ensure high standards of data quality governance and security


Required Qualifications
