Database Engineer /DBA - Cassandra, Elastic Search, MariaDB, AWS

The Database Engineer is responsible for the enterprise-wide administration of the Cassandra, and Elastic Search database Infrastructure.

The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines is necessary.

This is NOT an Oracle Requirement, but we are looking for expertise in open source NoSQL variants and Elastic Search (Scalability, Resistance, Clustering & High Availability)

How you will help::

Manage data on various databases.

Performance tuning

Software installation, configuration, database patching and upgrading.

Troubleshoot various issues with another dba's/developers.

Point of Contact for Vendor escalation

Ensures project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately.

Identifies potential security issues and recommends strategies to ensure database security.

Proactively monitor systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints

Establish standards and best practices for database implementation and operation.

Perform database backup and recovery.

Provides 24x7 support for enterprise database systems.

hands-on DBA experience with Cassandra or other big database technologies

Strong experience with Linux is required, including command line editors, scripting (shell, Python, Perl, etc.)

Experience in Elastic Search.

Experience in database and cross platform upgrades required.

Must have knowledge of network connectivity.

Knowledge of ServiceNow, or similar Ticket Management Software

Knowledge of SAN infrastructure

Strong trouble shooting and problem resolution skills.

Experience in public cloud (AWS) is preferred

Good knowledge of Data Modeling is preferred.

Knowledge of MariaDB is preferred.
Who we have in mind::
