Who are we looking for?

The Appian BPM Application Administrator supporting our Department of Defense customer. The Appian BPM Application Administrator serves as the primary technical authority for Appian application operations and is responsible for managing all Appian related application deployments, administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical support activities. This position will include a high degree of interaction with business and operations units to understand the functional needs of the users of the system as well as the various technology teams, which are responsible for integration points with the solutions.

Technical Skills:

Required Experience

\xef\x82\xb7 Hands on 4+ experience on Appian Upgrades and hotfix installations.

\xef\x82\xb7 Establishes and maintains user accounts, assigns file permissions and establishes password and account policies.

\xef\x82\xb7 Installs, upgrades, configures, tests, maintains and supports operating system software in a production environment.

\xef\x82\xb7 Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.

\xef\x82\xb7 Review\xe2\x80\x99s performance logs and monitors system performance. Troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software and communications problems; creates shell programs and utility scripts; performs configurations and adjustments to enhance database file capacity; performs automated and manual backup and restore processes.

\xef\x82\xb7 Installs, configures, and tests software packages. Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.

\xef\x82\xb7 Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.

\xef\x82\xb7 Provides user support and may conducts user software and hardware training to formulate technology solutions and ensure the effective safeguarding and sharing of enterprise data.

\xef\x82\xb7 Evaluates requests for hardware and software; researches and recommends solutions to technology needs, compatible with the client\xe2\x80\x99s technology architecture and infrastructure and resource constraints.

\xef\x82\xb7 Performs and/or oversees daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

\xef\x82\xb7 Performs and/or oversees daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

\xef\x82\xb7 Provides team leadership and technical guidance to less experienced systems administrators

\xef\x82\xb7 Configure Data Source, system properties and Deploy Application for new region setup

\xef\x82\xb7 Coordinate with the application and database team to identify deployment failure reason and act according to the finding.

\xef\x82\xb7 Coordinate with business stakeholders on Appian related issues.

\xef\x82\xb7 Work with Appian support to manage Appian tickets

\xef\x82\xb7 Manage/Plan Appian environment upgrades/ license renewals

\xef\x82\xb7 Manage/co-ordinate the Appian Release(application) Deployments

\xef\x82\xb7 Experience in webservers like Apache Tomcat, IIS

\xef\x82\xb7 Strong working/troubleshooting experiences on LINUX/UNIX OS.

\xef\x82\xb7 Problem Determination on complex JAVA systems , troubleshoot, issue identification, performance tuning skills

\xef\x82\xb7 Knowledge in Clustering EJB objects, Scalability and Reliability, JDBC connections and JMS connection.

\xef\x82\xb7 Good knowledge with change and incident management process.

Requirements:

\xef\x82\xb7 Experience in design, implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting infrastructure in a Linux and cloud environment.

\xef\x82\xb7 AWS certification is preferred.

\xef\x82\xb7 Experience with configuration, deployment, and testing of enterprise software applications

\xef\x82\xb7 Experience in all phases of systems implementation, including analysis/design, development, documentation, testing, and support is required

\xef\x82\xb7 Strong analytical thinking and excellent troubleshooting

\xef\x82\xb7 Familiarity with Problem and incident management Control processes

\xef\x82\xb7 Experience with ticketing tools and monitoring tools.

\xef\x82\xb7 Good knowledge with change and incident management process.

Qualification:

\xef\x82\xb7 Minimum of four-year technical degree, B.S. required. Masters will be highly regarded.
