Essential Job Functions:

• Manage and maintain DB2, Informix, and MS-SQL databases.
• Perform routine maintenance, backups, and recovery.
• Monitor performance and optimize queries.
• Implement security and access controls.
• Support database upgrades and patching.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
• Backup and Recovery: Designing, implementing, and testing robust backup strategies using native utilities and third-party tools, ensuring compliance with RPO/RTO goals.
• High Availability (HA) & DR: Experience configuring and managing Db2's primary HA/DR solutions including HADR and Db2 pureScale.
• Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO): Analyzing query access plans, tuning SQL statements, managing statistics, and optimizing indexes.
• Security: Managing user authorization, privileges, roles, and ensuring data security standards are met.
• Utilities: Proficient use of administrative commands and utilities (db2 CLP, db2look, db2move, db2pd).

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in DBA roles.
• Strong expertise in DB2 & Informix.
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
• Familiarity with data migration and ETL processes.
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Scripting and Automation: Strong proficiency in SQL and shell scripting to automate routine administration, monitoring, and problem resolution tasks.
• Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues by analyzing Db2 log files and system alerts.
• Capacity Planning: Monitoring resource consumption and predicting future growth trends for storage, CPU, and memory requirements.
• Cloud Experience: Experience managing Db2 on Cloud (IaaS or PaaS offerings).
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and systematic approach to complex, high-pressure problem resolution.
• On-Call Availability: Willingness to provide 24/7 on-call support for critical production databases.
