Business: Wholesale Client Services & COO Open positions: 3 Role Title: DB/ BI Developer Global Career Band: 6 Location (Country / City ): Bangalore Recruiter Name : Poonam Bihani The Opportunity: The core objective of the GCB6 Business Intelligence Manager is to build and develop applications and dashboards that provide business insights to functional and regional teams enabling performance improvement and data led decisions. The role will require translation of complex business requirements into user friendly and easy to digest visual dashboards allowing the senior leadership team to contextualize the overall functional/regional performance and drive improvement. The role of the DB/ BI Developer to create new Business Intelligence applications/ dashboards to support the overall objective of the Business Intelligence Function.
Business Intelligence sits within Service Management as part of the Wholesale Client Services Function. Wholesale Client Services comprises: New to Bank; Existing to Bank; Credit Analysis Unit; Service Management; Regulatory Business Support; Exits; Wholesale Client Services Centers.
What you'll do: Key competencies and abilities required for the role Impact on Business ? The jobholder will be responsible Management and Production of MI and reporting

  • Developing KPI that reflect the objectives of the business and delivering supporting analytics to create action
  • Support the development of one Global view of Client Services Performance
  • Development and introduction of quality control processes for reporting
  • Development of new reporting tools and insight, ways of working to help develop a center of excellence

Management of Risk
  • Responsible for the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology.
  • Demonstrates compliance with HSBC Bank plc Group standards, manuals and policies and adheres to the defined work practices, internal controls and risk management standards associated with the role.

Observation of Internal Controls
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business activities associated with the role.

Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role: To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Proficiency and proven track records of building QlikView/QlikSense applications / dashboard and data modelling and reporting. Must be efficient in front-end development and know visualization best practices
  • Experience in Data Architecture, and Data Warehouse construction using the SQL server & Alteryx is preferred not mandatory
  • Experienced track record in analytical environment where the focus has been on developing new analytical tools and performance indicators / analytics
  • Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Data, MI, Analyst is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to problem solve, take on analytical challenges and develop solutions where there is no clear answer
  • Inquisitive: looks to develop 'better'
  • Analyzing raw data, Developing and Maintaining Datasets, Improving data quality and efficiency
  • Must be a self-starter that can work with limited supervision
  • Demonstrable ability to work under pressure and make decisions based on priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Ability to plan and organise projects to meet deadlines, taking into account relative priorities
  • Strong commitment to service quality
  • Strong can-do attitude with a focus on developing partnerships across the organisation
