Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled

Database Programmer

with strong expertise in

Gen AI-ready data systems

,

vector databases

, and

Model Context Protocols (MCPs)

. This role will be instrumental in building scalable, AI-integrated database architectures that power intelligent automation and compliance workflows.

You'll work closely with

AI engineers, backend teams, and DevOps

to ensure seamless data flow, contextual intelligence, and performance across enterprise-grade AI systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design and maintain

AI-integrated database architectures

interfacing with LLMs, MCPs, and vector stores
Build and optimize

PostgreSQL & NoSQL

schemas for real-time AI inference
Architect

context stores and embedding repositories

for Gen AI workflows
Develop data pipelines for structured & unstructured financial data
Enable contextual communication using

Model Context Protocols (MCPs)

Perform database orchestration, automation, versioning & performance tuning
Ensure

data integrity, lineage, governance, and compliance

Collaborate on AI model integration, security, and architecture reviews
Evaluate emerging

vector DBs

(Pinecone, Qdrant, Milvus, FAISS, etc.)

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's / Master's in Computer Science or related field

5+ years

in database programming or architecture
Advanced expertise in

PostgreSQL

and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra)
Hands-on experience with

vector databases

Strong understanding of

MCPs and AI context management

Proficiency in

SQL, PL/pgSQL

, and database-LLM integrations
Experience with

ETL, data governance, and database security

Familiarity with

Gen AI frameworks

(LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, OpenAI APIs)
Cloud-native DB experience (AWS RDS/Aurora, GCP Spanner, Azure Cosmos DB)
Knowledge of

CI/CD, DevOps, and IaC

Preferred Skills

Multi-LLM routing & orchestration (MoE / hybrid models)
Financial & accounting data structures (GL, ledgers, transactions)
NZ & AU compliance standards, GDPR, SOC 2
Python-based AI integrations (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, LangChain adapters)
