Role description

The

Database Architect

will lead the design, standardization, and optimization of enterprise database ecosystems across on-premises and multi-cloud environments. This role demands deep expertise in relational and cloud-native databases, a strong foundation in architectural design principles, and the ability to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-efficient database solutions that power mission-critical workloads across diverse business domains.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

Define and implement end-to-end database architectures across on-prem and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, OCI, GCP). Design scalable, secure, and resilient solutions for OLTP, OLAP, and data warehousing workloads.

Domain Expertise

Tailor database architectures for key industries including BFSI, Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Telecom. Ensure alignment with domain-specific requirements such as availability, compliance, performance, and data sovereignty.

Cloud & Hybrid Platforms

Architect and execute seamless database migrations to cloud environments with zero downtime. Optimize cost, scalability, and resilience through advanced backup, disaster recovery, and storage strategies.

Performance & Optimization

Lead performance engineering efforts including indexing, partitioning, query tuning, and capacity planning for high-volume systems.

Security & Compliance

Implement robust security frameworks including encryption, RBAC, and auditing controls. Ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and HIPAA.

Automation & DevOps

Integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines and automate provisioning using Terraform, Python, and other tools. Drive Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) and self-service automation initiatives to improve agility and governance.

Leadership & Governance

Provide technical leadership to DBA and data engineering teams. Review and validate solution designs to ensure adherence to architectural best practices and enterprise standards.
