Required Skills:





We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MySQL Database Administrator with at least 3 years of hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing our MySQL database systems. You will support development and operations teams by ensuring database performance, availability, and security, while participating in day-to-day administration tasks.


Key Responsibilities:




Strong proficiency in MySQL, SQL, and database design principles Configure and manage MySQL on AWS Cloud (monitoring, backups, high availability) Familiarity with database administration tools, backup and recovery procedures, and security practices Manage user access, roles, and privileges securely Optimize queries and database performance (e.g., indexing, slow query analysis) Apply patches and upgrades to database software Perform database maintenance and tune servers for performance Assist developers with schema design, data migrations, and best practices Troubleshoot database issues and provide technical support Maintain clear documentation (processes, configs, troubleshooting) Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Required Skills and Qualifications:




Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a MySQL DBA Strong understanding of SQL, relational databases, and indexing strategies Experience with MySQL 5.7/8.0 in production environments Hands-on experience with AWS services: RDS, Aurora, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, DMS, etc. Familiarity with backup/recovery tools like mysqldump, xtrabackup Basic knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization Comfortable using the Linux command line and writing shell scripts Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred (Nice to Have):




Experience with cloud-managed databases (e.g., AWS RDS and Aurora) Exposure to monitoring tools like New Relic or Datadog Experience with programming languages such as PHP Familiarity with data warehousing and data modeling Experience working with Git and CI/CD pipeline
