:

1. Database Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Diagnose and resolve databases stuck in Recovery Pending, Suspect, or Emergency states.

Perform root cause analysis for database startup failures, log file corruption, incomplete recovery, and storage issues.

Fix issues related to missing/corrupted MDF, NDF, LDF files.

Work on strip files, log file growth issues, disk threshold incidents, and fragmentation problems.

2. Performance Tuning

Execute and analyze Index Scan and Index Seek behavior using execution plans.

Perform index maintenance: rebuilds, reorganize, and defragmentation.

Trigger & manage UPDATE STATISTICS (manual or automated).

Identify slow queries, apply tuning techniques, and optimize stored procedures.

Resolve CPU/memory bottlenecks, buffer pool pressure, tempdb contention, and IO issues.



3. Backup & Recovery

Handle full, differential, log, striped, and filegroup backups.

Restore databases using point-in-time recovery, tail-log backup, and piecemeal restore.

Validate backup integrity using RESTORE VERIFYONLY.



4. High Availability & Disaster Recovery

Configure and manage AlwaysOn Availability Groups (Synchronous/Asynchronous modes).

Troubleshoot AG failover, replica sync issues, latency, and quorum/witness problems.

Perform controlled failover and DR drills.

Ensure RPO/RTO compliance.



5. Security & Compliance

Implement and manage SQL logins, roles, permissions, encryption (TDE), audit, and compliance controls.

Work with IAM/OIM teams for DB access provisioning.



6. Monitoring & Automation

Use DMVs, PerfMon, SQL Profiler/Extended Events, and monitoring suites (SolarWinds, Idera, SCOM, OEM, etc.).

Automate database tasks using T-SQL, PowerShell & Agent Jobs.

Create health checks and proactive alerts for performance and availability.



7. L3 Support & Ownership

Provide expert-level technical support for production outages and escalated incidents.

Lead RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and corrective action plan preparation.

Write scripts, SOPs, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.
