Experience & Qualification

: Bachelor's degree or equal demonstrated academic qualification with 5+ years of experience in Database Administration.

Skills:

Maintain the SQL database. Setting up and monitoring routine maintenance SQL jobs and developing / maintaining an alert strategy(s) for failed jobs and database problems and/or failures. Work closely with analysts and other department personnel in advising best SQL coding practices. Excellent attention to detail, ability to detect and correct problems within SQL scripts. Help create and test SQL statements for data presentation and further automation. Modify / update T-SQL scripts for importing and organizing data. Manage daily / monthly data and reporting processes automated through SQL Server agent. Migrating SAS reporting into a SQL Server Data Warehouse platform. Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required. Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity. Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards. Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.

Administering database objects to achieve optimum utilization. Defining and implementing event triggers that will alert on potential database performance or integrity issues. Performing database housekeeping, such as tuning, indexing, etc. Monitoring usage, transaction volumes, response times, concurrency levels, etc. Implementing security measures and frameworks, while ensuring compliance. Identifying, reporting, and managing database security issues, audit trails, and forensics. Designing database backup, archiving, and storage strategy. Installing upgrades and patches to various apps.
