Role Description: The Global Data Storage Risk Business Analyst role is a global, firm wide role, initially focussed on requirements and design (in partnership as appropriate) for Product features enabling Localisation compliance.The role will take ownership for gathering, analysing, and documenting requirements for enhancements to current state, participating in creating and agreeing detailed, holistic design documents, determining minimal viable product and definition of done milestones and acting as the Data Storage representative in Product backlog management with Product owner teams. The role focuses on the end to end data needed to drive compliance: memorialisation and maintenance of external obligations, classification of data in scope for obligations, evidencing of compliance and reporting of noncompliance for governance to Chief Data Office teams. The role will work closely with other BA's in the team who are designing workflow and roles and responsibilities, for a holistic & well documented outcome and an agreed Operating Model.

Role Reporting Line: Data Storage Risk Lead

Role Responsibilities: Program foundations

The program foundations include obligations, data classification (e.g. jurisdiction, data type, confidentiality level) and control objectives and measurement related to Data Storage to achieve compliance. JPMC classifies data enabling the identification of in-scope Data Assets and reports on compliance with controls, by way of KPI and KRIs. Additionally, an Inventory of external obligations is maintained. This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • Building partnerships with product owners to ensure business requirements and data requirements are sufficiently documented
  • Research and create analysis spikes, user stories with an eye toward the MVP, North Star etc, while focusing on the details of the individual requirements
  • Strong understanding and experience in designing and developing global and firm wide business and technology operating models.
  • Devising metadata improvements in partnership with Line of business and corporate functional groups(LOBs/CFs), Data Type SMEs to achieve a reduction in Data Quality issues associated with Data Classification for Data Storage Risk Management
  • Assess Application current state data classification issues that arise, advise on control impacts and tactical or strategic paths of resolution, including opportunities for closing automation gaps
  • Must be proficient in collaboration tools like JIRA/Confluence
  • Collaborate with product owners to design measurable acceptance criteria and ensure requirements meet the definition of ready.
  • Provide end user documentation to educate on the end-to-end Product target solution, metadata flows and potential automation and actor touch points
  • Provide regular progress updates to the Global Data Storage Risk Lead and ensure escalation of any serious issues.
  • Understand the project subject matter and context, including data storage regulatory and policy environment
  • Contribute in meaningful and appropriate ways to meetings or calls; clear, concise, and confident written and oral communications
  • Make results of own analysis understandable, enabling others to accept and buy-in to conclusions
  • Build network and understanding in and outside of the Data Assurance team, across geographies, LOBs & CFs.
Solution Delivery
  • Partner with Product Owners and other CTC teams (both within and outside Data Assurance) to support metamodel design and technologies solution design.
  • Partner with CTC and other SMEs to document the current scope of data risk compliance processes, agreed gaps and enhancements and iterative delivery of enhancements over time as agreed.
  • Partner with other parts of the Data Storage Risk team to ensure KRI and KPI reporting is aligned with Classification and Control.
  • Partner with CDOs, 2nd line and other SMEs to understand scope and effectiveness of control procedures, business controls and their underlying obligations.
  • Operate within an agile at scale delivery structure and a nimble but robust delivery mechanism, reflecting agile principles and delivery best practices.

Role Qualifications

Essential:
  • Experience working within large change management programs; experience within large Financial Services firm or a strategy consulting firm serving financial institutions required.
  • Proven track record of Project/Change management delivery and significant experience as an advanced skilled Business Analyst
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, requirements gathering, coordinating for requirements/BRD with product teams, raising engagement requests for additional BAs as project requires.
  • Experience in collecting, analysing, and presenting data to business to make key decisions. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to identify key issues and help the teamwork overcome complexity
  • Ability to map current and proposed process and data flows into stories, use cases, and specifications by example focusing on the minimum viable product
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of products to maintain velocity and ensure holistic targets are achieved
  • Exceptional organizational skills, be able to prioritize demands/tasks based on priority level
  • Proven track record executing across complex environments partnering with senior leaders of businesses and corporate organizations.
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral executive-level communications skills, including the ability to quickly adjust messages and style based on different audiences and agendas.
  • Experience with and a true passion for Data Assurance, process innovation, business consulting and leading-edge technology.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with multiple teams, coordinating across different cross-functional initiatives, and reaching consensus with diverse stakeholders within large organizations.
  • Ability to understand business drivers and risk appetite and to align program delivery accordingly
  • Significant experience (5+ Years) in a Financial Services environment.
Desirable:
  • Experience in developing and delivering Data Governance or Data Risk Management capabilities.
  • 1-3 years of practical experience working in an Agile environment
  • Familiarity with Data Sovereignty obligations, especially in EMEA and APAC jurisdictions
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security & Technology Controls (CTC) Application Owner Services eco-system and assessment technologies and processes
  • Knowledge of Data Classification and Taxonomy Management and tooling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Information Systems or demonstrably qualified by experience to a similar level.
