Job Title: Data Scientist II
Location: Remote US-based Product Company
Experience: 4+ Years
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Responsibilities
Algorithm Development: Design, implement, and optimize scalable forecasting and M&V algorithms.
Scientific Analysis: Apply hypothesis testing, causal inference, and uncertainty quantification.
Performance Optimization: Enhance pipeline scalability and efficiency across large-scale systems.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers & SREs to address production issues and support client requirements.
Mentorship: Guide junior team members and share expertise in forecasting & M&V methods.
Agile Delivery: Actively participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Required Skills
4+ years' experience in data science, with focus on time-series forecasting and/or M&V.
Proficiency in Python and production-level codebases.
Strong grasp of statistical & ML methods (ARIMA, regression, deep learning, etc.).
Expertise with Python data stack (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, scikit-learn).
Experience with large-scale data processing (PySpark, Dask).
Strong SQL skills; exposure to RDS/NoSQL is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex concepts.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments. Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Prior experience in the energy industry (load forecasting, demand response).
Experience deploying ML models into production.
Familiarity with Docker & Kubernetes.
