We are looking for Data Scientist - Chennai. This is a fulltime permanent position.

• Utilize advanced mathematical, statistical, and analytical expertise to research, collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from internal and external sources to provide insight and develop data driven solutions across the company

• Build and test predictive models including but not limited to credit risk, fraud, response, and offer acceptance propensity

• Responsible for the development, testing, validation, tracking, and performance enhancement of statistical models and other BI reporting tools leading to new innovative origination strategies within marketing, sales, finance, and underwriting

• Leverage advanced analytics to develop innovative portfolio surveillance solutions to track and forecast loan losses, that influence key business decisions related to pricing optimization, credit policy and overall profitability strategy

• Use decision science methodologies and advanced data visualization techniques to implement creative automation solutions within the organization

• Initiate and lead analysis to bring actionable insights to all areas of the business including marketing, sales, collections, and credit decisioning

• Develop and refine unit economics models to enable marketing and credit decisions

What you'll need:

• B.S. degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or equivalent quantitative field

• 3+ years of Analytical or Data Science experience within the financial services industry

• Advanced knowledge of SQL and experience working with rationale databases

• Proven ability to aggregate, extract, validate, and analyze large datasets using complex SQL queries

• Hands-on experience building and publishing customized and interactive dashboards within Tableau

• Experience building predictive models (including linear & logistic regression, decision trees, random forest and gradient boosting) in R or Python

• Advanced level of MS Excel skills, including advanced formulas, VBA, macros and data tables

• In depth understanding of data collection, data flow management, data manipulation, data archiving and data standards

• Passionate about solving problems with data and high level of intellectual curiosity

• Highly motivated to work on multiple projects in parallel and team player with a startup spirit

• Very strong written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to translate complex analysis into actionable insights to a non-technical audience
