We are committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation, where every team member contributes to the security of our payment ecosystem. : Your way to impact The FSI Data Scientist will identify complex fraud patterns through detailed data mining, analysis, and the development of highly sophisticated investigative tools. Your research will seek to connect seemingly disparate fraud trends that are perpetrated by sophisticated threat groups and track them across the enterprise. This work supports PayPal\'s Global Financial Crimes organization by providing investigative insights that enhance fraud risk controls, recovering funds from networks of bad actors, and deterring fraud by referring matters to law enforcement. Your day to day will include: Tracking disparate fraud signals and developing a holistic view of fraud trends across PayPal and its adjacencies. Researching new components for integration into FSI\'s advanced linking framework that identifies fraud actors across the enterprise. Leveraging programming expertise to test and deploy new algorithms that enhance our linking capabilities. Expanding upon investigative fraud stories by developing statistics and data visualizations to quantify and assess the impact of control gaps on the platform. Serving as technical SME for GI by sharing new data mining techniques, maintaining technical reference documentation, and interfacing with partner technology teams. Collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to communicate analytic findings succinctly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Work with Global Data Sciences and Risk to bring investigative innovations to frontline defenses. What do you need to bring- 4-5 bullet points Successful track record of owning and driving large, complex data analysis projects. Advanced understanding of financially motivated cybercrime trends and typologies. Demonstrated capacity for innovation and outside-the-box thinking in the creation of new capabilities and processes that are unstructured or exploratory in nature. Team player, energetic personality, curious, quality minded, focused, committed, able to work efficiently in a fast paced, changing environment.
