About the role:

As a Data Science Team Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the development and management of internal and external data across Onecom and Onecom Partners. You'll lead a talented team of data engineers, driving technical excellence, architectural decisions, and continuous improvement. What makes you a great fit:

5+ years' experience in data engineering or a similar role Proficient in Python, SQL, and modern data stack tools Strong understanding of ETL processes and data modelling Experience with dbt, Apache Airflow, and Google BigQuery Familiarity with Azure and Google Cloud Platform Skilled in version control (Git) and CI/CD practices Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities Proven leadership experience in mentoring and managing technical teams Passionate about continuous learning and innovation

Key responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, supporting technical growth and career development Define and prioritize team goals aligned with business strategy Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and delivery timelines Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions Establish and maintain coding standards, processes, and best practices Conduct performance evaluations and identify training opportunities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes Design and implement efficient data models and pipelines Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across systems Monitor and optimize performance of data infrastructure Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the data function
