Job Scope:

As a Data Migration Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and validating data migration projects across various environments. You will work with tools such as Carbonite, Double-Take, and other industry-standard solutions to ensure seamless, secure, and efficient data transfers. This role requires a strong understanding of data structures, storage platforms, and migration best practices, along with the ability to troubleshoot issues in real-time.

Job Responsibilities:

Plan and perform end-to-end data migrations between on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Utilize tools such as Carbonite (including Carbonite Migrate and Carbonite Availability) to execute migrations with minimal downtime and risk. Conduct detailed pre-migration assessments and develop migration strategies and runbooks. Monitor data migration processes, troubleshoot failures, and ensure data integrity and consistency. Collaborate with storage, network, and server teams to ensure environment readiness. Develop scripts and automation routines (using PowerShell, Python, etc.) to optimize migration processes where applicable. Document all migration activities, including architecture diagrams, configuration changes, and validation reports. Provide post-migration support to address any residual issues and ensure successful cutover.

Required Skills

Proven experience with data migration tools like Carbonite, Double-Take, Zerto, or similar platforms. Understanding of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, Object Storage) and data protection principles. Strong knowledge of network protocols, storage replication, and failover strategies. Commitment to maintaining a secure and resilient IT infrastructure. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Qualification and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a related field. 3+ years of relevant experience on Migration and migration tools * Certifications in relevant areas will have added advantage
