Job Purpose

Bharti Institute of Public Policy (BIPP) is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals for the position of Data Intern. The Data Intern will support the data team in extracting, transforming, and analyzing large datasets across various domains. The role involves hands-on work with data, coding in Python, maintaining clear documentation, and ensuring high data quality and consistency. This position is ideal for someone looking to deepen their practical experience in data handling and analysis.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will carry out the below activities:


Assist in data extraction from multiple structured and unstructured sources (APIs, databases, pdfs, etc.). Perform data cleaning and transformation to prepare datasets for analysis. Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and insights. Create and maintain clear documentation for data sources, transformation logic, and analysis outputs. Help maintain data repositories and ensure version control using Git or similar tools. Collaborate with team members on ongoing research and data analysis tasks.

Knowledge / Education:

Bachelor's Degree Consistent academic record

Specific Skills:

Strong programming skills in Python for data extraction and manipulation (Requests, Pandas, NumPy, etc.). Comfortable working with large datasets and performing data cleaning and transformation. Strong documentation and communication skills. Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn and solve problems independently.

Desirable Experience:

Prior coding experience with large datasets. Experience in working with government departments, NGOs, or academic institutions.
