Job Description

Team member within Business Reporting & data driven RCA (Root Cause Analysis) team under the Performance & Control Function. The candidate will assist in supporting the current business reporting for Global Operations. In addition, this role features heavy involvement with the use of data lakes and streams, working closely with partners in technology and the business to test and challenge current and proposed solutions. This person will identify issues within data sets and form a picture around the process that caused the problem system to system. This candidate will work with partners across the business to trace issues end-to-end to implement a remediation strategy. This person should develop a strong network of working relationships outside of the immediate team and across the wider business. Be responsible to provide their manager with regular updates on progress and demonstrate how that has been achieved.

Qualifications

Skill and experience required for Data Engineer role within the Business Reporting & RCA Team.

Essential:

Relevant degree, Science, Engineering, Maths, Computer Science

Proven work experience with SQL and database management (Oracle)

Experience with windows and/or linux shell scripting and system structure

Experience with data visualization

Expert with excel/VBA

Practical use of code management (GIT, SVN)

Knowledge of data flows and ETL (batch, incremental loads, windows task scheduler)

Proficient communication and partner management skills

Ability to quickly react to issues and proactively remediate

Keen attention to detail and interest in root cause analysis

Keen to learn new technologies and data methodologies

Preferred:

Python

Agile workflows (JIRA, Kanban)

Experience with of understanding of data lake and BigData management (Cloudera/Azure Cloud)

Knowledge of investment banking (settlements) and financial products

Tableau

Alteryx
