Job Description

As a Site Lead for Oracle Data Centers, you will be the technical liaison between the technology teams and the Data Center Environment and will be key in maintaining the Operational run aspects. You will be supporting our growth path and will be recognized as a 'technical expert' with a focus on core Data Center infrastructure. You will troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues. As a pragmatic problem solver on a wide range of Data Center environment and systems you understand which issues to escalate to the appropriate resolver groups. You will proactively monitor the customer environment by checking system error logs, monitoring ticket queues and consulting with other groups involved in maintaining the environments. You will make recommendations to resolve system errors and performance issues and take corrective actions. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved. Expected to improve current processes and introduce automation with aim towards simplification.


You can execute small projects on your own and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. Ideally, we are seeking someone from a reputable Cloud provider and are also open to receiving applications from Tier 1 Data Center colocation providers. This would suit an individual who is able to add significant value based on existing experience whilst evolving their career upstream into Cloud Services.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems OR equivalent work experience 10+ years proven track record in IT Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200 - 1000+ server systems). Prior experience in Data Center environment preferred Ability to work efficiently in remote multi-functional teams as well as, inventively and independently as an individual Demonstrated examples of a drive to dig into the details of a system or process errors to tackle customer problems Experience working in mission critical operations environment This position has a physical component requiring the ability to lift up to 25Kg and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations Ability to speak confidently & communicate clearly in a virtual environment Strong Alignment to process and be a process champion (including drafting new processes or testing shortcomings in existing) Superb communication skills (oral & written) and ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of customers and team environment

Data Centre experience requirements

Rack, stack equipment including commissioning of new racks Strong structured cabling skills on fiber and copper (e.g looming, term & test) Airflow management (hot aisle, cold aisle, containment etc.) Good understanding of data center design, including electrical and cooling plant & operation thereof Strict consistency to defined Health & Safety processes Working in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team without friction

Required systems & hardware expertise

Hardware repair, diagnosis & break/fix Cabling (Fibers & copper) installation & troubleshooting Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, basic troubleshooting) IT Hardware Concepts (RAID, SAN, x86 architecture, SCSI, FC, ethernet, iLO) Core OS Services: SSH, Telnet, RDP, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP etc. Base Operating System Installs and configuration * Systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers)
