Role Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented

Data & BI Tester

to validate analytics, BI, and data engineering solutions built on the

Microsoft BI stack and GCP data platform

. The role involves testing semantic models, data pipelines, APIs, and ensuring business rules and non-functional requirements are correctly implemented.

Key Responsibilities

BI & Analytics Testing

Test

Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models

for data accuracy, performance, and usability Validate

Power BI data refresh cycles

, schedules, and failure handling Verify measures, KPIs, calculations, and dimensional models against business rules

Data Pipeline & ETL Testing

Perform

data pipeline testing

to ensure end-to-end data correctness from source to consumption layer Validate data transformations, aggregations, and reconciliation across stages Ensure pipelines are fit-for-purpose, scalable, and reliable

API & Integration Testing

Conduct

API testing

to validate data ingestion, integration points, and downstream consumption Validate request/response structures, error handling, and data payloads

Non-Functional Testing

Perform

non-functional testing

including performance, volume, data quality, and reliability checks Validate system behavior under peak loads and data growth scenarios

Business Rule Validation

Ensure

business rules, logic, and constraints

are correctly implemented and enforced Collaborate with business and technical teams to clarify requirements and expected outcomes

Collaboration & Documentation

Work closely with data engineers, BI developers, and stakeholders to understand solutions Document test cases, test results, defects, and validation evidence clearly

Must-Have Technical Skills

Core Technologies

SQL

- strong ability to validate datasets and transformations

Python

- for data validation, automation, and test scripting

Power BI

- testing reports, datasets, and semantic models

Data Platforms

BigQuery

GCP Data Services

, including: Dataflow Dataproc Cloud Storage Pub/Sub

Microsoft BI Stack

SSIS

- ETL testing

- report validation

SSAS

- cube/semantic model testing

Preferred Skills

Experience in

data quality checks and reconciliation

Understanding of

ETL/ELT architectures

Exposure to

cloud-based data platforms

Familiarity with testing tools, automation frameworks, or CI/CD pipelines (nice to have)

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
