About the role





Rippling's Payments Data & Analytics team is seeking an experienced Analytics Manager to join our rapidly expanding team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for building an analytics team from scratch; you will lead them in designing, building, and maintaining services that process vast amounts of financial data.


This is an exciting opportunity to build Rippling's analytics presence in India from the ground up. As Analytics Manager, you will establish and grow a high-impact analytics team in our Bengaluru office--starting from 0 to 1 and scaling within the approved headcount for the year.


You will partner closely with Accounting, Finance, Business Operations, Payments, and Product teams to deliver accurate, reliable data that underpins Rippling's financial reporting and ensures the correct functioning of critical product systems. Your work will directly influence decision-making across the company and help shape how data is used at scale

What you will do



Collaborate across the company with engineering, accounting, financial partnerships and product teams to analyze and account for billions of dollars moving through the Rippling payment platform. Build a team of finance-focused data analysts from scratch; define scope, hire, train, and provide team members with mentorship with opportunities for growth Build full-cycle analyses using SQL, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools, and develop real-time metrics dashboards to manage key financial and operating levers of the business. React swiftly to emerging issues, summarize facts, and provide recommendations for the timely resolution of critical financial matters. Collaborate with key stakeholders (Accounting, Compliance, Treasury, etc.) to understand business requirements and develop scalable solutions for reporting and reconciliation automation, including internal tool development and/or the implementation of third-party tools. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of reconciliation processes and procedures. Prepare and deliver data and reporting solutions supporting month-end close, regulatory & compliance reporting, and Internal and External Audit reporting. Create, maintain, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of reporting databases and dashboards, and collaborate with data engineering to implement, document, validate, and monitor our evolving data infrastructure

What you will need



Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, MIS or other quantitative fields. 8+ years demonstrated experience working hands-on with data: building reporting tables and dashboards for use by functional partners, building and scheduling data pipelines, exploratory analysis on large data sets, etc. 5+ years working in the payments, fintech or finance world; working closely with cross functional stakeholders in both business and engineering teams 2+ years spent developing and coaching teams of data professionals Strong communication skills--you must be able to distill technical details and communicate them to non-technical audiences Extreme ownership-- you are not satisfied until the problem is solved Project management abilities; you are able to keep large cross-functional teams aligned, on track, and working towards a common goal Ability to work through ambiguity, root cause problems, and solve them independently Experience driving data quality; expertise in analytics engineering, automated alerting, and tracking accuracy in large-scale financial datasets Expert-level SQL, comfort with git, experience with dbt CLI or an equivalent tool Extensive experience in building reporting in Tableau or an equivalent tool Strong interest in data tooling; you're always up to date on the latest developments in the modern data stack

Preferred Qualifications



Prior experience working across multiple US timezones with distributed teams You have experience supporting financial audits and compliance reporting Experience building operational admin dashboards in tools such as Retool Bonus points if you have experience with general accounting principles, with the general ledger close process, and regulatory compliance.
