Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) is internal solution partner for METRO, a EUR31 Billion international wholesaler with operations in more than 30 countries. The store network comprises a total of 623 stores in 21 countries, of which 522 offer out-of-store delivery (OOS), and 94 dedicated depots. In 12 countries, METRO runs only the delivery business by its delivery companies (Food Service Distribution, FSD).
HoReCa and Traders are core customer groups of METRO. The HoReCa section includes hotels, restaurants, catering companies as well as bars, cafes and canteen operators. The Traders section includes small grocery stores and kiosks. The majority of all customer groups are small and medium-sized enterprises as well as sole traders. METRO helps them manage their business challenges more effectively.
MGSC, location wise is present in Pune (India), Dusseldorf (Germany) and Szczecin (Poland). We provide HR, Finance, IT & Business operations support to 31 countries, speak 24+ languages and process over 18,000 transactions a day. We are setting tomorrow's standards for customer focus, digital solutions, and sustainable business models. For over 10 years, we have been providing services and solutions from our two locations in Pune and Szczecin. How you will make an impact?
You will be joining the SAM (Sales and More) Deal & Account Management squad, a central team dedicated to empowering our global sales force. Our mission is to provide the digital tools and data-driven insights necessary to increase the operational efficiency of sales force in 19 countries. We build and maintain METRO's tailor-made CRM solution, which is essential for our sales teams to manage their customer portfolios effectively.
Our work directly impacts the efficiency and success of our sales organization by reducing administrative tasks and enabling a stronger focus on strategic customer relationships. By leveraging smart algorithms and integrating with METRO's central data platform, we help predict customer needs and ensure our sales teams can offer the right products at the right time. As a Data Analyst in this squad, you will play a critical role in turning our vast dataset into actionable strategies that shape the future of our sales approach.
Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our data expert from country support on the stabilization of existing dashboards and the implementation of new ones.
  • Support the implementation of Google Analytics (GA4) for our platform, a crucial project to enhance our tracking capabilities.
  • Build and maintain insightful dashboards and in-depth reports tailored to various audiences, from product teams to top management.
  • Dive deep into our data on our central data platform to identify new use cases, uncover opportunities, and pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Act as a central point of contact for data-related topics, effectively "gluing together" different aspects of our data landscape.
  • Champion data quality by identifying and helping to resolve issues, ensuring the accuracy of our tracking and reporting.
  • Work directly with Squad Leads to drive data initiatives forward, with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Translate complex data sets into compelling narratives and visualizations to influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
  • Promote data literacy and empower product teams and stakeholders to use data effectively in their daily work.
Qualifications
Required key competencies and qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar Data Analyst role, working collaboratively in an agile environment.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with a knack for solving complex problems.
  • Expertise in data visualization and storytelling, with proven experience using tools like Looker Studio (preferred), MicroStrategy, or Tableau.
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills, with experience in querying large datasets in BigQuery.
  • Solid understanding of centralized data platforms and the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, including IAM concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics (GA4) implementation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with basic statistical concepts, including summary statistics and outlier detection.
  • A proactive, self-aware, and positive attitude with a strong commitment to customer orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
