Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) is internal solution partner for METRO, a EUR31 Billion international wholesaler with operations in more than 30 countries. The store network comprises a total of 623 stores in 21 countries, of which 522 offer out-of-store delivery (OOS), and 94 dedicated depots. In 12 countries, METRO runs only the delivery business by its delivery companies (Food Service Distribution, FSD).
HoReCa and Traders are core customer groups of METRO. The HoReCa section includes hotels, restaurants, catering companies as well as bars, cafes and canteen operators. The Traders section includes small grocery stores and kiosks. The majority of all customer groups are small and medium-sized enterprises as well as sole traders. METRO helps them manage their business challenges more effectively.
MGSC, location wise is present in Pune (India), Dusseldorf (Germany) and Szczecin (Poland). We provide HR, Finance, IT & Business operations support to 31 countries, speak 24+ languages and process over 18,000 transactions a day. How you will make an impact?
The data analyst squad is dedicated to empowering both squads and leadership with actionable insights into software delivery performance. Their primary role is to drive continuous improvement and foster data-driven decision-making by developing and maintaining user-friendly dashboards that provide clear, actionable information. These dashboards are regularly updated to reflect the latest data, business needs, and metric definitions.
To support this core function, the team is also responsible for the entire data lifecycle. This includes maintaining the data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data into a centralized platform. Furthermore, they provide crucial data analysis, reporting, and offer training and support to all users, ensuring everyone can effectively interpret and leverage the dashboards to their full potential.
Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our data experts on the stabilization of existing dashboards and the implementation of new ones.
  • Build and maintain insightful dashboards and in-depth reports tailored to various audiences, from product teams to top management.
  • Dive deep into our data on our central data platform to identify new use cases, uncover opportunities, and pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Act as a central point of contact for data-related topics, effectively "gluing together" different aspects of our data landscape.
  • Champion data quality by identifying and helping to resolve issues, ensuring the accuracy of our tracking and reporting.
  • Work directly with Squad Leads to drive data initiatives forward, with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Translate complex data sets into compelling narratives and visualizations to influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
  • Promote data literacy and empower product teams and stakeholders to use data effectively in their daily work.
Qualifications
Required key competencies and qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar Data Analyst role, working collaboratively in an agile environment.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with a knack for solving complex problems.
  • Expertise in data visualization and storytelling, with proven experience using tools like Looker Studio (preferred), MicroStrategy, or Tableau.
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills, with experience in querying large datasets in BigQuery.
  • Solid understanding of centralized data platforms and the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, including IAM concepts.
  • Familiarity with basic statistical concepts, including summary statistics and outlier detection.
  • A proactive, self-aware, and positive attitude with a strong commitment to customer orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
