The Business Statistician will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting healthcare and business data to support decision-making at the hospital. The role involves identifying trends in patient flow, surgical outcomes, referral patterns, marketing effectiveness, and financial performance to enhance operational efficiency and patient care quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analysis & Reporting
Collect, clean, and organize data from OPD, IPD, surgery, billing, and EMR systems.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports for management.
Develop dashboards for patient volumes, doctor performance, and departmental efficiency.
Analyze trends in surgeries (e.g., cataract, LASIK, retina, cornea), patient demographics, and outcomes.
2. Business & Financial Insights
Track hospital revenue streams (consultation, procedures, pharmacy, optical, diagnostics).
Study cost per surgery, profit margins, and ROI from various service lines.
Support budgeting and forecasting using statistical models.
Evaluate performance against KPIs and industry benchmarks.
3. Marketing & Growth Analysis
Analyze marketing campaign results (Google Ads, social media, camps).
Map patient acquisition channels, conversion rates, and cost per lead.
Study referral trends from optometrists, general practitioners, and patient word-of-mouth.
Provide insights on geographic areas and demographics for expansion.
4. Clinical & Quality Data Monitoring
Support quality audits by providing statistical data on infection rates, outcomes, and follow-ups.
Assist clinical teams in research projects or publications using hospital data.
Track patient feedback, NPS, and service quality metrics.
5. System Development
Work with IT to improve data capture and analytics tools in HMS/EMR systems.
Develop automated dashboards in Power BI / Tableau / Excel / Google Data Studio.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or Healthcare Analytics.
2-5 years of experience in healthcare analytics, hospital data management, or business intelligence.
Strong knowledge of Excel, SQL, Power BI / Tableau, and statistical software (SPSS, R, or Python).
Understanding of hospital workflows, medical terminologies, and financial reporting.
