Scope: Generate insights for data-driven decisions in product development using systematic data analysis. Identify suitable problem statements, develop solutions, and support vehicle development programs in an international environment. The work includes descriptive statistics, exploratory data analysis (EDA), and inferential statistics.
Industry Domain: This is an automobile manufacturing company and the business domains are R&D, Manufacturing, After Sales, Logistics and Supply Chain, Quality, etc.)
Role is focused within the Buses team, a small (~5 people) analytics group supporting R&D, quality, aftersales, and manufacturing. The data analyst will bridge gaps between data scientists and engineers, with emphasis on governance, best practices, and platform/tool recommendations
Technologies/Context: Artificial intelligence (ML and GenAI), cloud computing, agile software development; large datasets; SQL, Python, Hadoop, Spark, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift; Databricks; Power BI.
2. Must-Haves
Technical / Functional Skills:
5+ years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, and/or data architecture
Strong expertise in SQL and Python
Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI (explicit client and ProFocus priority)
Expereince with distributed data systems such as Hadoop, Spark
Experience with Cloud platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift
ETL/ELT pipelines (Apache Spark, Airflow, dbt)
APIs and data services for real-time and batch processing
Familiar with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
Perform descriptive statistics, EDA, and inferential statistics
Design and implement scalable, secure, high-performance data architectures (data lakes, warehouses, real-time pipelines)
Understanding of APIs and how applications connect to AI engines (e.g., Truck API platform). Deep API development experience not required.

Experience Required:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Automotive industry experience in manufacturing, R&D, supply chain, connected vehicle, or aftersales
Must be currently living in Bangalore (relocation candidates not considered due to turnover risk)
Strong preference for automotive/bus domain experience, as projects are centered on core automotive topics
3. Nice-to-Haves
Automotive Industry Experience strongly preferred. Experience at other manufacturing companies working with domains such as R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, After Sales etc. Finance industry experience is not as relevant.
ERP/telematics experience such as SAP, Oracle
Familiarity with additional data tools (Excel, SQL)
Business Analysis certifications: CBAP, CCBA
Agile certifications: CSPO, CSM
Experience defining and enforcing data modeling standards
Familiarity with data observability practices
Experience optimizing data storage and retrieval for performance and cost efficiency
Exposure to Databricks and AWS is helpful, as some data flows through Databricks into Azure-based platforms. Buses team is also moving toward Snowflake/AWS integration.
Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools (e.g., LLM copilots) for ETL pipeline optimization is considered a plus
4. Work Arrangement and Hours
Location: Onsite in Whitefield, Bangalore
WFH Policy: Up to 6 WFH days/month
Work Hours: ~160 hours/month; ~8 hrs/day. Most meetings 9:00-9:30 AM IST; wrap ~5:00 PM IST
