Data Analysis & Monitoring

Year    KA, IN, India

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Monitoring

Analyze power quality data from meters installed at large industrial facilities (steel plants, pharma, data centers, commercial buildings) Review grid substation monitoring data for voltage fluctuations, harmonics, and power factor variations Interpret power quality parameters including THD, voltage sags/swells, flicker, and frequency deviations Conduct trend analysis and predictive assessments of power system performance Generate actionable insights from complex power quality datasets

Root Cause Analysis & Problem Identification

Perform deep-dive root cause analysis of power quality disturbances affecting industrial operations Identify underlying technical, operational, and systemic causes beyond surface-level symptoms Correlate power quality events with equipment failures, production disruptions, and energy inefficiencies Assess cascading effects on equipment life, process reliability, and overall system performance Develop comprehensive problem classification frameworks for systematic issue resolution

Solution Design & Engineering

Design comprehensive power quality improvement solutions including harmonic filters, voltage regulators, power factor correction systems, and UPS integration Develop technical specifications for power conditioning equipment and grid stabilization systems Create implementation roadmaps with phased deployment strategies Integrate solutions with existing cooling systems, VFDs, and automation infrastructure Ensure solutions address root causes rather than symptoms

Industry Partnership & Cost Optimization

Collaborate with equipment manufacturers, technology vendors, and utility companies to optimize solution costs Negotiate strategic partnerships for bulk procurement and preferred pricing arrangements Evaluate alternative technologies and vendors to achieve best total cost of ownership Develop standardized solution packages for scalable deployment across multiple sites Balance technical performance requirements with commercial viability constraints

Technical Leadership & Project Management

Lead power quality assessment and remediation projects for industrial clients Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, field personnel, and client stakeholders Interface with C-level executives on power infrastructure strategy and investment decisions Manage cross-functional project teams and coordinate with external partners Ensure project delivery within budget, timeline, and performance specifications

Compliance & Standards Management

Ensure all solutions comply with IEEE, IEC, Indian Electricity Grid Code, and utility interconnection standards Stay current with evolving regulatory requirements and grid modernization initiatives Support regulatory submissions, power quality compliance reports, and utility coordination Maintain technical documentation and certification requirements

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems/Power Electronics preferred) M.Tech/Phd in Power Systems 8-12 years of power systems experience with minimum 5 years in power quality analysis and solution implementation Proven track record of managing technical projects with commercial accountability

Technical Expertise

Advanced proficiency in power quality analysis software (ETAP, PowerWorld, PSCAD, DIgSILENT) Extensive experience with power quality meters (Fluke, Dranetz, ION, Schneider, Yokogawa) Deep knowledge of harmonic analysis, load flow studies, fault analysis, and power system modeling Understanding of industrial power systems, VFDs, cooling system integration, and grid interconnection Experience with power system automation, SCADA systems, and energy management platforms

Industry Knowledge

Hands-on experience with large industrial facilities (steel, pharma, data centers, manufacturing) Comprehensive knowledge of Indian grid codes, utility requirements, and power market dynamics Understanding of energy efficiency programs, demand response, and power purchase agreements Familiarity with cooling systems, HVAC automation, and industrial process integration
Key Performance Indicators

Power quality improvement metrics achieved for clients (THD reduction, voltage stability, uptime improvement) Number of successful mitigation projects completed within budget and timeline Cost optimization achieved through strategic partnerships (target: 15-25% cost reduction) Client satisfaction scores and contract renewals/expansions Reduction in power-related equipment failures and production downtime Revenue contribution through technical solution differentiation

Reporting Structure

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer of the PQ business

Team Size

: 3-5 power systems engineers, field technicians, and data analysts
