Role Overview
The school is looking for a dedicated and energetic
Western & Semi-Classical Dance Teacher
to conduct dance classes for students as part of the school's co-curricular program. The teacher will help students develop rhythm, coordination, confidence, cultural awareness, and stage presence.
Key Responsibilities
Teach
Western dance styles
such as Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Freestyle, and Bollywood Fusion
Teach
Semi-Classical dance
, based on Indian classical foundations such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, etc.
Plan and deliver structured, age-appropriate dance lessons for school students
Conduct proper warm-ups, basic technique training, rhythm exercises, and choreography
Prepare students for
school assemblies, cultural programs, annual day functions, and inter-school events
Maintain discipline and ensure student safety during dance sessions
Assess student progress and encourage participation and confidence
Coordinate with school teachers and activity coordinators for scheduling and performances
Required Qualifications & Skills
Training in
Western and/or Semi-Classical dance forms
Experience teaching dance to children in a school or academy setting
Good sense of rhythm, movement, expression, and choreography
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Patient, professional, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
Preferred Qualifications
Formal dance certification or classical dance training under a recognized guru
Prior experience working in
CBSE / ICSE / International schools
Experience handling group performances and stage choreography
