The Dance Teacher is responsible for imparting dance education to students in accordance with
CBSE guidelines
, fostering creativity, physical fitness, cultural awareness, and self-expression. The teacher plans and conducts age-appropriate dance instruction, prepares students for performances, and contributes to the holistic development of learners.
Teach appropriate dance forms (Classical, Folk, Contemporary, Creative Movement, etc.) based on class level
Develop lesson plans, learning outcomes, and assessment methods
Ensure safe warm-up, practice, and cool-down routines
Student Development
Encourage creativity, discipline, coordination, rhythm, and confidence
Identify and nurture students' talent and interest in dance
Prepare students for school functions, assemblies, competitions, and cultural programs
Assessment & Evaluation
Assess students' performance through practical demonstrations and participation
Maintain records of attendance, progress, and performance as per CBSE norms
Provide constructive feedback to students
Co-curricular Activities
Organize and choreograph dances for
Annual Day, Festivals, CBSE events, and Inter-school competitions
Support school initiatives promoting art, culture, and physical wellness
Administrative & Professional Responsibilities
Maintain discipline and ensure student safety during classes
Coordinate with class teachers, activity coordinators, and school administration
Attend staff meetings, training programs, and CBSE workshops when required
Uphold school policies and CBSE guidelines
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Dance (recognized institution)
B.Ed. / Training in Education (preferred as per CBSE norms)
Proficiency in one or more dance forms
