Dance Teacher (Bharatanatyam)

Job Summary:

The Dance & Bharatanatyam Teacher is responsible for teaching Bharatanatyam and other dance forms to students, nurturing artistic expression, cultural appreciation, and stage confidence, in alignment with CBSE guidelines and co-scholastic activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and conduct dance classes with a focus on Bharatanatyam technique, theory, and expression. Teach adavus, mudras, abhinaya, and choreography appropriate to students' age and skill level. Prepare students for CBSE internal assessments, cultural programs, and annual school events. Choreograph performances for school functions, competitions, and inter-school events. Identify and mentor talented students for advanced training and competitions. Maintain discipline and ensure students' safety during practice sessions. Incorporate theory elements such as history of Bharatanatyam, costumes, and music (where applicable). Coordinate with music teachers and event organizers for performances. Maintain records of student progress and participation. Participate in school meetings, workshops, and professional development programs. Support CBSE co-scholastic requirements, art integration, and cultural initiatives. Take up additional responsibilities related to cultural activities as assigned by the school.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Qualification:

Degree / Diploma in Bharatanatyam or Performing Arts Certification from a recognized dance institution (preferred)

Experience:

Minimum 2-5 years of teaching or performance experience preferred Experience in training school students is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Bharatanatyam. Ability to teach students of varying age groups. Choreography, rhythm, and stage presentation skills. Knowledge of Indian classical dance traditions and cultural values. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, creativity, and passion for teaching arts.

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
