Could you be the full-time IT System Engineer (Linux Platform & Scripting) in Bangalore we're looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in advancing the Cybersecurity Platform (CSP), a hub of centralized security functions and services running in a virtualized environment for urban and mainline mass transit train transportation systems. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business, including System Engineering Managers, IT engineers, and project stakeholders, to ensure the design and deployment of Linux IT services meet the highest standards. You'll also support penetration testing campaigns and contribute to the development of CI/CD pipelines, among other responsibilities.
You'll specifically take care of automating CSP services, deriving specifications for Linux IT modules, and supporting the development of IT modules, but also assist in training project stakeholders and supporting tendering activities related to CSP services.
We'll look to you for:
Developing and maintaining shell, Python, and Bash scripts and command-line tools
Designing and deploying Linux IT services/modules for CSP within defined quality, cost, and timelines
Documenting requirement specifications, architecture, design reviews, and release notes
Interfacing with users of IT services to ensure compliance with their needs
Supporting penetration testing campaigns involving CSP
Providing expert support for configuration, build, and deployment of modules
Contributing to training project stakeholders for implementation
Supporting tendering activities related to CSP services

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
4+ years of experience in solution design and deployment, primarily on Linux platforms
Experience or understanding of IT/OT environments and Linux system design, configuration, and implementation
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, and Bash
Experience with automation and configuration management tools, such as Ansible or Puppet
Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline development using Git or similar tools
Familiarity with open-source tools and libraries like awk, sed, and grep
Strong documentation and presentation skills, including proficiency in MS Office tools
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams across geographic locations
