Cybersecurity Infrastructure Pentester & Remediation Specialist

Reports to:

CDOC Manager / GM

Role Mission

Perform internal and external penetration testing (pentesting) on critical infrastructure, identify vulnerabilities, and lead remediation efforts. The specialist will assess the security posture of virtualized environments (VMware, Proxmox), firewalls, and networks, following standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST 800-5

Key Responsibilities

Conduct

internal and external pentests

on networks, servers, applications, and perimeter devices. Document technical findings and deliver executive reports with prioritized remediation plans. Execute or oversee

vulnerability remediations

, ensuring proper post-patch validation. Audit and improve configurations on

firewalls, switches, and security devices

. Review security configurations of

VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and Proxmox VE

environments. Validate remote access, VPN policies, network segmentation, and access control. Collaborate with SOC/EDR teams to correlate events and prioritize threats. Participate in architecture reviews and hardening recommendations.

Technical Requirements

Proven experience in

offensive security / pentesting

(minimum 3 years). Proficiency with

pentesting tools

(e.g., Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Nessus, OpenVAS, etc.). Deep knowledge of

VMware ESXi, vCenter, Proxmox VE

. Hands-on experience with

next-generation firewalls

(e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, pfSense). Strong background in

remediation of vulnerabilities

on Windows/Linux systems and networks. Understanding of

network protocols, routing, VPNs, VLANs, NAT, ACLs

. Familiarity with

security frameworks

like

ISO/IEC 27001, NIST SP 800-53

, OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK. Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.

Preferred / Nice to Have

Certifications such as

OSCP, CEH, CompTIA PenTest+, GPEN, Fortinet NSE, VMware VCP

. Experience with SIEM/EDR tools (e.g.,

Wazuh, Sentinel, Defender for Endpoint

). Basic scripting/automation with Python or Bash. Intermediate to advanced technical English.
