Overview
A Cybersecurity Specialist (or Security Analyst) is responsible for protecting an organization's computer systems, networks, and data from cyber-attacks, unauthorized access, and security breaches. They monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to security threats using tools, policies, and best practices. Key Responsibilities 1. Monitoring & Threat Detection
Monitor systems, servers, networks, and security tools for suspicious activity

Detect malware, intrusion attempts, policy violations, and anomalies 2. Incident Response
Investigate security incidents and breaches
Determine root cause and impact of attacks
Take immediate action to contain and eradicate threats

Perform vulnerability scanning using tools like Nessus, Qualys
Identify and prioritize weaknesses in systems and networks
Recommend or implement patches, updates, and configurations 4. Security Tools & System Hardening
Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, antivirus, and SIEM systems
Configure and maintain security controls
Harden servers, applications, and networks against attacks 5. Risk Assessment & Compliance
Assess security risks and propose mitigation strategies

Train employees on safe cyber practices
