Cyber Security Researcher

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Research and Develop Innovative Use Cases, Technology and Cyber security solutions in support of Hitachi's cross-industry business needs like Energy, Industry, Mobility, Smart Life, and Information Technology.

Use engineering principles to research, design, develop technology solutions; to construct and operate the same with full cognizance of their design and forecast their behavior under specific operating conditions.

Design, Implement and Demonstrate Proof-of-Concept and Working Proto-types for Hitachi and its clients

Explore emerging tools, techniques, and technologies, and work with academia for cutting-edge solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and eco-system partners for mutual business benefit.

Generate eminence via patents, publications, thought leadership, invited speakerships and conspicuous presence in forums of repute.

Add value to self through continuous learning and knowledge acquisition.

Give back learnings to colleagues and communities.

Mentor colleagues for growth and success.

Qualification:

Bachelor's degree with STEM background (Science, Technology, Engineering and Management) with strong quantitative flavor.

Mandatory Requirements:

1. Strong Fundamentals:

Background in binary number theory, Boolean and linear algebra, and cryptography.

2. Subject Matter Expertise:

In-depth knowledge in software, system, cloud or IoT vulnerability, exploitation

In-depth knowledge in system programming (C/C++) and high-level programming (JAVA/Python)

Knowledge in two or more of areas: computer / OS security, network security, hardware security, firmware security, and embedded platform security

Familiar with IT systems, embedded systems, Industrial Control Systems, and OT protocols.

Minimum 4 years experiences in a research based Cyber Security position

3. Emerging Trends - Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning :

Basic Understanding of working principles of neural networks and underlying algorithms (e.g., convolutional-CNN). Application to Cybersecurity domains such as intrusion prevention, adversarial attack and defense.

4. Communication:

Ability to articulate key messages concisely and precisely.

5. Collaboration:

Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills and ability to work with diverse and distributed teams.

Additional Preference:

1. Advanced Qualification : PhD in Computer Science or related areas.

2. Application Domain:

The candidate is expected to have knowledge in any one of the following

Finance, Supply chain and Blockchain

Predictive Analytics, Time Series Analysis and Forecasting

Prescriptive Analytics and Mathematical Optimization

Exploratory Analytics and Simulation (Discrete-event, Monte-Carlo)

Computer Vision and Image Processing.

3. Eminence: Patents, publications, thought leadership, invited speakership and conspicuous presence in refereed platforms or forums of repute.
