Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Intern to join our security team. The intern will support day-to-day security operations, assist in vulnerability assessments, monitor security alerts, and contribute to improving the organisation's overall security posture. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity tools, processes, and best practices

Key Responsibilities
Assist in monitoring and analysing security alerts and suspicious activity.
Support vulnerability scanning and help in identifying potential security risks.
Participate in incident response activities, including documentation and root-cause analysis.
Research emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and security technologies.
Help update and maintain security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
Assist with endpoint security, patch management workflows, and user access reviews.
Collaborate with IT and security teams on security awareness initiatives.
Support audits and security assessments as needed.
Maintain logs, records, and reports related to cybersecurity incidents
.
Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, network fundamentals, and system security.
Familiarity with common security tools (e.g., SIEM, antivirus, vulnerability scanners) is a plus.
Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and basic scripting concepts

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and documentation abilities.
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
.
Preferred Skills (Optional)
Hands-on experience with security labs, Capture-the-Flag (CTF) challenges, or academic projects.
Understanding of OWASP Top 10, NIST, ISO 27001, or other security standards.
Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Experience using tools such as Wireshark, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nessus, or similar
.
