Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Pattern Analysis & Fabric Lay Planning

Read and interpret technical patterns/specifications Plan and execute fabric lay according to garment sizes and design Optimize fabric utilization to minimize wastage

Cutting Execution

Perform manual or machine cutting based on layout Ensure precision and accuracy in cutting bulk and sample garments Handle single and multi-layer cutting processes

Team Coordination

Supervise and instruct helpers/layers on fabric handling Allocate work to cutting helpers and ensure productivity Report any fabric defects or shortages

Quality & Compliance

Maintain quality standards and prevent fabric wastage Ensure all pieces are correctly marked and bundled Comply with safety protocols and cleanliness of the cutting area

Inventory & Records

Maintain cutting records and cutting ticket slips Track fabric consumption against issued meters Report discrepancies or over-consumption to the Production Manager

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience as Cutting Master in garment manufacturing Strong knowledge of woven/knit/stretch fabrics Ability to lead a team of helpers Attention to detail and precision Basic understanding of garment construction and sewing operations Familiar with quality and production standards in the apparel industry
