Job Purpose
Serve as the first point of contact for customers (in-store, phone, app, email)
Deliver excellent customer service by addressing customer queries, processing orders/payments, resolving complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction
Key Responsibilities / Duties
Greet customers politely and professionally; understand and record their needs.
Assist customers in selecting products (meat / seafood / related items), explain product details (freshness, cuts, packaging), and make suggestions if needed.
Take and process orders -- including billing/payment handling (cash/card/app), order entry in POS/system, and ensure correct documentation.
Handle customer queries/inquiries via phone, email or in-person: order status, delivery tracking, substitutions, cancellations, refunds/exchanges.
Resolve complaints or escalate issues as needed to supervisor/manager to ensure timely resolution.
Maintain updated customer records / order logs / complaint logs as per company procedures.
Coordinate with store operations (butchers, packers), delivery/logistics (if needed), and other teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and timely delivery.
Ensure hygiene and cleanliness standards in customer-facing and service areas, especially important given the fresh meat/seafood context.
Promote any ongoing offers, loyalty programs or company promotions, inform customers about them and assist in upselling when appropriate.
Maintain a professional attitude, friendly demeanor, and compliance with all company SOPs -- including safety, hygiene, and customer-service protocols.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
Minimum education: 12th pass or equivalent (higher education preferred).
Good verbal and written communication skills (local language + English) to interact with diverse customers.
Customer-first attitude, empathy, patience, and good interpersonal skills.
Basic numerical skills -- for billing, payments, order processing.
Comfortable working in a retail/food-service environment; willingness to work shifts, weekends, and possibly evening hours.
Basic computer/POS familiarity is a plus (for order entry, billing, record-keeping).
Knowledge or willingness to learn hygiene and food-safety norms.
Prior experience in retail, FMCG, food, or customer-service roles is an advantage -- though freshers can be considered if they show aptitude.
