Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
Handle customer queries related to sea freight shipments (export/import).
Maintain professional communication via email and phone with clients and shipping lines.
Update clients on shipment status, delays, or documentation issues.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
Documentation
Prepare and verify shipping documents: Bill of Lading (BL), Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, etc.
File shipping instructions with carriers as per deadlines.
Ensure documentation compliance with customs and port authorities.
Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, and shipping lines for timely dispatch of documents.
Maintain accurate records and soft copies of all documents
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in any discipline (preferably in Commerce, Logistics, or Supply Chain).
1-3 years of experience in customer service and documentation within logistics/freight forwarding.
Familiarity with export-import documentation and INCOTERMS.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and email communication.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of Indian customs regulations and port procedures.
Experience with online documentation portals (ICEGATE, DGFT, etc.).
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
