The Customer Data Steward is responsible for the creation and maintenance of Customer master data in alignment with governance standards to support and enable global business partners and processes. This a global role responsible for improving data reusability, accessibility and quality using Illumina's Master Data Governance (MDG) tool, SAP and Salesforce (SFDC) platform. The Customer Data Steward will monitor and maintain data quality and take corrective actions when necessary to ensure completeness, accuracy and on time delivery of the customer records and customer hierarchies.
This position is based in Bengaluru, India and will support data cleansing and migration activities associated with ongoing ERP Transformation to SAP S/4HANA.
Responsibilities:Own and manage end-to-end data cleansing activities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of contact, customer, and vendor master domains
Collaborate with Customer Data Steward peers to identify data quality issues, define cleansing rules, and execute data cleansing activities for Customer, Contact, and Vendor master data in alignment with project-defined standards
Independently conduct root cause identification and analysis on data outliers and clearly communicate findings/actions for stakeholders
Maintain clear documentation of data cleansing procedures and changes made to data sets; define new/revise existing data quality metrics to monitor data adherence over time
Prepare, maintain, and present Documentation, Policy and Training content for ongoing maintenance in S/4HANA and Informatica MDM
Monitor and action on Data Quality reports to maintain data integrity and enforce data quality policies
Leverage creative problem-solving approaches to review and validate data (Tax IDs, customer hierarchies, valid email addresses, etc.) against third party and public sources
Collaborate with cross-functional internal business partners and Global Customer Master Data Governance teams to understand regional nuances about how customer, contact, and vendor is utilized
Support UAT testing for ERP and CRM system enhancements
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of at least 5 years of relevant experience in Customer, Contact, or Vendor data management or data cleansing roles. Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Fiori, Salesforce, and Informatica MDM preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to deliver quality work in a timely manner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong understanding of the interaction between data attributes and business processes
Curiosity to investigate patterns, understand root causes, and support findings through data analysis
Possess a positive, can-do attitude and an ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, team setting as well as independently
Proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Excel and SQL
Experience with data cleaning techniques and tools (e.g., Informatica) as well as mass data upload tools (DemandTools, Winshuttle, etc.)
Must be fluent in English
