Your skills and experience

We seek an experienced Information Developer/Technical Writer with more than 10 years of writing experience to project manage, plan, write, edit, and publish customer documentation for our Optical Hardware/software products.

  • Experience in working in the Telecommunication domain preferably Optical Networking
  • 8+ years in the Technical Writing industry, preferably telecommunication industry
  • Hands-on experience with developing customer documentation and managing projects
  • Must possess strong people and leadership skills
  • Good understanding of Agile environment and alignment to Agile writing principles
  • Good knowledge of REST APIs
  • Knowledge of DevOps software development with a continuous delivery methodology
  • Knowledge of Defect-tracking systems (e.g., Jira), Content Management systems, Wiki (Confluence etc.)
  • Knowledge of basic UNIX and scripting is preferred
  • Good understanding of the SDLC and DDLC, and Structured writing principles
  • Experience in managing documentation schedules and deliverables
  • Knowledge of XML authoring using Arbortext or Oxygen and graphic tools such as SnagIt and CorelDraw
  • Excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills
  • Extensive experience in the documentation for a complex technology
  • Experience with cross-site collaboration for content development
  • Gather data from and work with PLM, R&D, and Test to ensure appropriate creation and timely delivery of technical publications to coincide with product release
  • Understanding of single-sourcing and content management systems
  • Ability to work independently or as part of cross-functional teams to develop information products associated with components or features of an assigned product
  • With limited guidance, develop information products for component or feature groupings for an assigned product that is a system or a complex grouping of units or features
  • Develop accurate documentation schedules and plans and adhere to them
  • Research, write and edit high-quality hardware/software customer documentation for Nokia products
  • Self-edit documentation with strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy completeness, usability, and style
  • Work to improve the content and appearance of customer documentation continuously
  • Achieve expert product knowledge to produce quality materials, and understand the high-level technical solutions being developed
  • Produce deliverables that conform to company documentation and quality assurance standards.
  • Evaluate work upon completion to ensure that objectives have been met
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering
