Summary: As a Custom Software Engineer, you will develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Your typical day will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, utilizing modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable and high-performing solutions tailored to meet specific business needs. You will engage in coding, testing, and debugging activities while ensuring that the software aligns with the overall architecture and design principles of the organization. Additionally, you will participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of the development process. Roles & Responsibilities: oAdminister and manage Datadog across multi-environment (cloud/on-prem) setups. oConfigure monitors, dashboards, SLOs, APM tracing, and log pipelines for various applications. oIntegrate Datadog with AWS, Azure, GCP, and third-party tools (e.g., PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Slack, etc.). oManage user access, roles, permissions, and API keys in accordance with security policies. oDefine and enforce naming conventions, tagging standards, and monitoring templates for consistent observability. oCollaborate with DevOps, Application, and Infrastructure teams to ensure effective telemetry coverage. oImplement synthetic monitoring, RUM (Real User Monitoring), and infrastructure metrics for end-to-end visibility. oDevelop and maintain automation scripts (Terraform, Python, or APIs) for Datadog configuration management. oTroubleshoot issues related to agent deployment, data ingestion, dashboards, and alert noise reduction. oReview usage reports, optimize dashboards, and manage cost efficiency of Datadog licenses. oProvide training and onboarding to teams on Datadog best practices. Professional & Technical Skills: o3+ years of hands-on experience with Datadog administration and observability. oStrong understanding of monitoring concepts, metrics, logs, traces, and distributed systems. oExperience integrating Datadog with AWS / Azure / GCP and CI/CD pipelines. oFamiliarity with Datadog APIs, Terraform providers, and configuration as code. oWorking knowledge of Linux/Windows systems, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and network monitoring. oExperience with incident management workflows and integration with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira). oScripting or automation experience using Python / Shell / PowerShell. oStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. oDatadog Certified Administrator / Observability Professional certification (preferred). oExperience with other monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK). oExposure to SRE practices, SLIs/SLOs, and performance optimization. oFamiliarity with FinOps / cost governance related to observability tools. oStrong ownership and accountability. oCollaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally. oAttention to detail and proactive in identifying monitoring gaps. oAbility to simplify complex technical information for broader audiences. Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 7.5 years of experience in Datadog. - This position is based at our Bengaluru office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
