Key Responsibilities: 1. Installation & Configuration: Install and patch Rational Synergy and related components like Change, DCM. Configure databases and services. Set up Synergy on UNIX or Windows environments with Informix. 2. Database Administration: Manage Synergy databases including backups and recovery. Monitor database health and performance. Handle space management and optimization. 3.User & Role Management: Create and manage user accounts and permissions. Assign roles such as CM Administrator, General System Administrator, and Database Server Administrator. 4.System Maintenance: Apply patches and upgrades. Troubleshoot system issues. Ensure system availability and performance. 5.Security & Compliance: Manage access controls and audit logs. Ensure compliance with organizational policies. Technical Skills: 1.IBM Rational Synergy (v7.2 or later) 2.Database systems: Oracle, Informix 3.Operating Systems: UNIX/Linux, Windows 4.Scripting: Shell, Perl 5.Backup and recovery procedures 6.LDAP and user authentication setup 7.Familiarity with IBM Rational Common License Server.
